Terms & conditions

About these terms

Hadiyah is a small business that issues and runs a halal gift card. By buying, holding, or redeeming a card you agree to these terms. We are not a charity, and a card is not a regulated financial product.

Buying a card

Cards are sold in pounds sterling and paid for securely through our payment provider. Once payment clears we issue the card — printed and posted, or sent digitally — to the recipient you choose.

We may decline or cancel an order if we suspect fraud or if a card cannot be fulfilled, in which case we refund the amount paid.

Using your card

A card can be spent at any partner in the Hadiyah collection. Every partner is halal-verified by certification before it joins. You can spend the balance in full or across several visits.

To redeem, the recipient shows the card code at the partner. The balance and full transaction history can be checked any time on the balance page using that code.

Disputes & incorrect deductions

If you believe a deduction was wrong — the wrong amount, a charge you did not make, or a balance that does not look right — tell us as soon as you can, and within 30 days of the transaction. The balance page lists every transaction with its date, amount, and partner, which is the quickest way to spot anything unexpected.

To look into it we will ask for evidence: the card code, the transaction in question, and anything that supports your account, such as a receipt or photo. We then run an investigation with the partner, reviewing the ledger and device records on both sides before reaching a decision.

Where we find a deduction was made in error, we correct the balance and refund or reinstate the difference. Where the records show the charge was correct, the balance stands. Disputes are handled case by case and our decision is final — though nothing here affects any rights you have under consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Expiry

Cards expire 12 months from the date of activation. The full amount stays spendable until the expiry date shown on the balance page. We do not reduce the balance with fees before then. Any balance unspent at expiry can no longer be redeemed.

Refunds, loss & replacement

An unused balance can be cancelled and refunded within 14 days of purchase. After that the card is a gift and is non-refundable.

Cards are not exchangeable for cash and carry no cash value. A lost or stolen card can only be reissued virtually, at our discretion, for the balance remaining at the time it is reported.

Gift a Meal

Gift a Meal is an optional sadaqah you can add at checkout — given on behalf of the recipient — or that a recipient can make from their own balance. These donations are held as restricted funds in a separately-tracked pot. We budget £2.50 per person fed.

Donations from the pot go to charities serving the poor and needy. Donations are voluntary and non-refundable once made.

Partners & liability

Partners in the collection are independent businesses. We are not responsible for the goods, service, availability, or conduct of any partner, though we remove any partner that no longer meets our halal verification.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes & contact

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version always lives on this page. For anything you are unsure about, our FAQ is the quickest answer, and the contact details on your order confirmation reach us directly.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
